Kashina Kessler is an American film professional who first gained recognition for her role in the cult horror sequel Sleepaway Camp III: Teenage Wasteland (1989). In the film, she portrayed Maria Nicastro, a character memorable for being the first on-screen victim, whose identity is subsequently stolen by the antagonist, Angela Baker. Following her early acting work, Kessler transitioned into a prolific career behind the camera as an editor and producer.
She honed her craft at the University of Colorado’s film school under the mentorship of legendary experimental filmmaker Stan Brakhage, whose influence shaped her unique approach to visual storytelling. Over the years, she has contributed to high-profile projects, including the feature films Party Monster and Derailed, as well as major commercial campaigns. Kessler has also established herself in the documentary field, notably serving as an associate producer and editor for the award-winning environmental film Sonic Sea (2016). Today, she is recognized as an Emmy Award-winning producer and a versatile editor known for blending technical precision with artistic vision across commercials, features, and branded content.
