She began her formal artistic training in the 1970s at the renowned Tablado Theater and made her professional stage debut in 1976. Throughout the 1980s, she became a prominent figure in Brazilian film, notably appearing in Nelson Rodrigues adaptations like the 1981 version of Bonitinha, mas Ordinária.
